GOALS

I walked to a park that was a little over 2 miles away, explored it, and walked back! (roughly 6 miles all together!)

And even though there were times I wanted to turn back or just flat out die (I chose to walk at noon..and I wore black)

I kicked that walk’s ass!

And as soon as I rehydrated, I did a little victory dance

I took my advice from yesterday and pushed myself to walk that distance today! I set a goal and I accomplished it!

Sure it’s a small accomplishment in the grand scheme of life..

but small ones build up and can amount to great accomplishments (If that makes any sense)…

After my walk, I relaxed and began to formulate a plan for a few video ideas for my youtube channel. I’ve picked the music out, edited some of it, and now I need sleep. I’ve set a few goals for myself tomorrow and hope to achieve them all.

So my advice for today (tonight) is to set goals for yourself every day. Technically it’s a To-Do list, but labeling it as something else could effect how you approach the list itself attitude-wise. Some suggestions include: goals, quests, missions, (since we’re on tumblr) Your Dashboard, etc.

Creating a list of things to accomplish leaves a little more room in your mind to focus on how to get those tasks done. Whether they’re big or small goals, once you reach them you can mark them down as something to feel positive about. Especially when you know you worked hard and put effort into achieving that goal. If anything else, if you get it done today (or even start it today), it’s less to do tomorrow.

Have a good night/day. If you found this entry, I hope it helped you in some way or another. :)

hiddlybatch:

So, after posting this gif set, loads of people have been asking for the link, but as it’s inconveniently not available on youtube or any other video sharing website, I’ve uploaded it here for you. :) For UK peeps, it’s from Friday Download which currently on iPlayer until July 27th.
It’s the full interview, including a lot of the other cast members of The Avengers, didn’t bother cutting it down to just Tom’s part. :P Enjoy!

We Can’t Hear You Through All of This Box Office Money

“I’m not jealous. I’m Batman”

I JUST SAW SOMETHING I NEVER THOUGHT I’D SEE…

Someone who was trying to say ‘There are’ (there’re) spelt it ‘THEIR’RE’

And I went on further to find that they should’ve used the word, ‘there’s’…

I mean, I get that there are little flubs and they shouldn’t matter. I think that once people stop caring about spelling and grammar, they stop caring about making a good impression. Like, “Who cares if I made one little error on that word? People will know what I mean.” It’s like Text Language was a gateway into more writing errors, making way for reliance on spell check which can’t tell if you mean, “there, they’re, and their” or “your and you’re.”

MOTIVATION

(It’s very Sesame Street, but..) Today’s Blog of Positivity is about ‘Motivation’!

I woke up this morning feeling great about the possibilities of the day. I had a bunch of plans that included exercise, research, a few phone calls, and a video editing session. It is now 2:30pm and I haven’t accomplished any of those things. What happened?

Well, for starters, I didn’t start the day by exercising right away. It could have been left over sluggishness from yesterday’s sporadically torrential rainfall, or maybe it was my bad habit of laziness and procrastination. Either way, there was a lack of motivation to exercise this morning.

Now it is pouring rain again, and there’s no way I’m walking or driving in that.

Let David Tennant look upon me with sadness and disappointment, but the day is not over! There are various things to be happy about today. For one thing, I’m writing this blog post. That’s a positive step in the right direction because if you look at past blog entries, I’m not always the most consistent poster (ex. 30 day challenges, Movie Clip Mondays, Trailer Tuesdays). So the fact that I started talking about this Positivity trend yesterday and have continued to write about it today is a personal improvement!

It’s a small step anyway….

AND you know what? The day’s not over! It’s only almost 3 now, and I can still push myself to go to the gym! I know it doesn’t seem like it should really be a push, but I know my energy level isn’t as high as it is from when I wake up to about noon. So I’m going to make myself go and keep that pace of exercising every day.

AND when I get back, I’m editing those videos! I’m a night person. So no matter how late it is, my computer will still be there to edit videos.

In the end, it’s motivation and determination that keeps us on track. No matter how much we want to do something, sometimes laziness and procrastination can get in the way. As internet junkies, it’s even harder to pull ourselves away from the computer screen to get different tasks done. It’s hard but we can do it!

All we have to do is start our day off right! I learned that my day should start with exercise to increase my energy level and make me more productive during my day. Another way to put it is once I start and complete one task, I’m easily motivated to continue and complete my other tasks. Falls into place, kind of like dominoes. What’s my motivation to exercise? I want to/need to lose weight and exercise is the only way I’m getting that!

Your turn. You can choose to tell me your answer if you want via reply or my ask, but mainly this question is for you to think about. Don’t take not having an answer as a negative sign, but as a motivation in itself to find something or someone to motivate you! What motivates you to start & finish a task for the day/week?

‘Les Misérables’ Trailer

WHAT? BUT IT’S WEDNESDAY?! I know. I know, but a friend of mine posted about this on her Facebook and I couldn’t not talk about it! I don’t know how to feel about the film yet. I’ve heard a few songs from the play, but haven’t actually seen the whole thing. I’m worried I’ll cry if I see it (sappy like that). Upon searching for this trailer on Youtube, I found this comment that was absolutely perfect as a rebuttal to a comment that was removed due to too many negative votes:

As a voice teacher, singer who has been studying for 7 years, and actress who has been studying 8 years, she isn’t perfectly trained and technically right, but it fits the part so much better. I love Lea Salonga, but the fact of the matter is, Fantine dies like 2 scenes later and isn’t going to be belting at that point. This is beautiful haunting and painful BECAUSE of the shallow breathing. This is a movie, not a concert acting takes over technique.

I agree that Anne Hathaway’s voice isn’t Broadway spectacular, but she’s a talented singer and an even more talented actress. I think she sung the song (as the comment above states) in a beautifully haunting tone that matched the trailer’s ambience perfectly.
